Mia Bookhard’s Late Goal Lifts Liberty to 1–0 win
Nolensville, TN (June 8, 2025)- Coming off a quick turnaround from a Friday night battle with Asheville City SC, Greenville Liberty earned a hard-fought 1–0 victory on the road against Tennessee SC with a stoppage time goal from Mia Bookhard.
The opening half offered little in the way of chances, with Tennessee SC appearing more composed and dangerous as the Liberty tried to overcome a 48-hour turnaround from Friday’s loss in Clemson. The match remained scoreless at the break.
After halftime, Greenville came out flat and found themselves defending deep early on. But as the second half unfolded, the visitors gradually found their rhythm. Liberty began to press higher and create chances, shifting the momentum in their favor.
The breakthrough came in the dying moments of stoppage time. Morgan Delair linked up with Mia Bookhard, who launched a lofted strike into the upper corner to seal a thrilling 1–0 win. With the three points, Greenville Liberty improves to 3-3-1 on the season and jumps into second place in the divisional standings.
The Liberty hit the road again on Wednesday, June 11th, for a matchup with SSA before returning home on June 20th to host Birmingham Legion WFC.
