Know Your Crest
The name, Greenville Liberty, resonates strongly with iconic local pillars, such as the Liberty Bridge, Liberty Theater, and Liberty Life Insurance, and shares the aspirational nature of the name of the men’s team, the Greenville Triumph.
After asking fans for their input through a voting competition regarding the new women’s team name, Greenville Liberty not only garnered the most votes among the finalists but also was the most-suggested name. From Greenville soccer fans, staff and community members the crest was created based on the stories, history, and personality of the area.
At the center of the crest is the South Carolina state flower, the yellow jasmine. This vibrant and energetic flower, is beautiful but should also be revered for its poisonous punch. Surrounding the yellow bloom are shades of blue, taking notes from the Triumph navy and the bodies of waters that weave throughout the city.
The Greenville Liberty is represented by the center crest, but can also be identified by its two alternative crests which highlight the Liberty Bridge located in Greenville, S.C.
