DiPasquale and Gonzalez to join Greenville Liberty
Greenville, SC (January 25, 2023)- The Greenville Liberty Soccer Club has announced the signings of Patrice DiPasquale and Gabriela Gonzalez, pending league and federation approval. Both players appeared in the club’s open tryouts and fought to earn their places on the 2023 team roster.
Patrice DiPasquale is a center midfielder hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio. She is well acquainted with the Upstate, having spent her collegiate career as a Clemson Tiger. She logged over 792 minutes of playing time at Clemson, scoring her first career goal in her first game as a Tiger, and was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll four times. Prior to joining the Liberty, DiPasquale competed for Discoveries SC, now known as the Charlotte Independence SC.
A Kings High School standout, DiPasquale is the school’s all-time leading scorer with 56 goals, including a 22-goal season. She was selected as Offensive MVP twice, and was a four-time varsity soccer letterwinner. Her skills also earned her the honor of all-time career scoring record in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference.
Gabriela Gonzalez, a junior at Bob Jones, is a native of Antioch, CA. She has logged an impressive 3,486 minutes of playing time in her three years at Bob Jones and started 21 games for the Bruins in the 2022 season. The midfielder led the team in goals scored last season, racking up 12 goals. Her grit earned her the honor of South Region Player of the Year for Division I by the National Christian College Athletic Association in 2022.
Gonzalez is a 2020 graduate of Heritage Baptist Academy and was active in East County Revolution Football Club, formerly known as the Impact Soccer Club, for all four years of high school. She was a member of the Impact U19 NPL team and was a key asset in their 2019 victory in the Samford Summer Classic Division 1 Championship.
DiPasquale and Gonzalez are the first set of signees to come from the 2023 open tryouts. They join returners Carly Thatcher and Autumn Cayelli in addition to new member Mia Applegate. The club will begin its second season this summer with hopes of earning a second division title and bringing home the W League trophy. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.
