Greenville Triumph Academy player, Autumn Cayelli, sits down to answer a few questions
Autumn Cayelli is one of the newest additions to the Greenville Liberty roster although she is no stranger to the Upstate’s professional soccer club, having ties to the Greenville Triumph through her older brother, Patrick Cayelli and having played for the academy team earlier this spring. The Anderson local, joins the team after finishing her club season with CESA ECNL U17 at the ECNL National Playoffs in Seattle. She brings experience from club and high school soccer following a record-breaking year in her junior season, scoring 49 goals and 4 assists to help lead TL Hanna to the state finals in the 5A Classification. Cayelli was also named the South Carolina Girls Soccer Player of the Year and Gatorade SC Girls Player of the Year for 2022. We sat down with Autumn to ask a few questions and learn more about her as she joins the team for its inaugural playoff run.
Q: What school and/or club team do you play for? And are you committed to a college or university or still looking?
A: I play for CESA up in Greenville and for TL Hanna in Anderson. I am currently verbally committed to the University of South Carolina!
Q: What position do you play and how would you describe your style of play?
A: I play attacking and defensive mid as well as center forward. I would say my style of play is more possessive but when in the final third direct.
Q: How do you plan on improving your game this summer?
A: To improve I’ve been training with Liberty after my club season and I also train with my older brother on the other days!
Q: What’s your pregame playlist like?
A: I have multiple playlists I cycle through but usually I start off with some songs I’ve currently been loving then I play rap artists like 21 Savage. Then right before the game I’ll play old rock like Mötley Crüe to get hype.
