Dike, Wilson, Pennington, Soloman join Greenville ahead the 2024 season
Greenville, SC (April 23, 2024) – The Greenville Liberty Soccer Club has announced the addition of Dubem Dike, Carly Wilson, Perin Pennington and Kenzie Soloman ahead of the 2024 season, pending league and federation approval. With the Home Opener just under three weeks away, be sure to purchase your tickets for the 2024 season to witness these players in action.
Dubem Dike
University of South Carolina forward, Dubem Dike, heads back to her hometown and returns to the Liberty for the 2024 season. Over the past two Liberty seasons, the Greenville native has totaled 397 minutes on the pitch, scoring two goals and two assists. Now a sophomore, Dike spent her freshman year at Wake Forest University where she appeared in two matches, logging 24 minutes in the 1-0 win over rival, University of Georgia. As a four-year letterman, Dike had an impressive high school career at Greenville Technical Charter HS recording a total of 55 goals. The forward also competed club for CESA ECNL, where she was invited to play in the ECNL National Selection Game, scoring the opening goal for her team. Throughout her time competing, she received many athletic accolades including:
- Rated as a four-star No. 96 overall prospect and No.32 forward by IMG Academy / TopDrawerSoccer for the 2022 class
- Ranked No. 4 in the South Atlantic Region
- 2022 Player of the Year for her region
- 2020-21 First Team All-Conference
Dike is the ninth member returning member of the squad.
Carly Wilson
Greenville adds Wake Forest midfielder, Carly Wilson, to the squad following her sophomore season with the Deacons. Throughout two seasons, Wilson recorded 30 game appearances with 10 starts and one goal, contributing to nine clean sheets during the 2022 season. During her sophomore season, the midfielder played a role in the program-record for fewest goals allowed, helping the team go undefeated at home for the first time since 2007.
Prior to beginning her college career, the Suwanee, Georgia native attended Lambert High School. Throughout her four years, Wilson was recognized as:
- Two-time United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American
- DiVarsity 7A Girls Student Athlete of the Year
- All-state for 2021 and 2022
- Women of Will Award Winner: BSN Sports and Under Armor
At the club level, Wilson competed for Concorde Fire ECNL where she and her team won the ECNL National Championship her senior year. Liberty teammate, Kenzie Solomon, played alongside Wilson with Concorde.
Perrin Pennington
Following her first year of college, midfielder Perrin Pennington joins the Liberty all the way from University of Montana. The Atlanta, Georgia native graduated from Oconee County High where she led her team in assists during her three seasons of play and in goals as a junior. Throughout her high school career, Pennington was named:
- 2022 Region 8AAA Player of the Year
- 2022 & 2023 First Team All-Region
- 2023 First Team All-State
The midfielder also helped bring the Warriors to the Class 3A state title her senior year, and to the semifinals in both 2021 and 2022. Pennington competed for Tophat SC, a club team in Atlanta, where they placed third third at Girls Academy Nationals in 2021. Before transferring to Oconee, Pennington played for OL Reign Academy in Seattle, where she and her team won the DA cup and qualified for DA National Playoffs.
Kenzie Solomon
Greenville brings on another goalkeeper with the addition of University of Georgia’s Kenzie Solomon. With the Bulldogs, Solomon began play her sophomore season, appearing in two matches. She made her collegiate debut in goal against Southern Mississippi, making one save and contributed to a combined shutout. She also entered in goal for a penalty shootout against Clemson in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to attending UGA, Solomon played for Riverwood International HS and Concorde Fire ECNL, alongside Liberty teammate Carly Wilson. The Georgia keeper helped lead Riverwood to the Class 6A Final Four appearance, where they allowed only two goals. She also played a pivotal role in Concord’s national championship win in 2022. Along with these achievements, Solomon earned many other impressive accolades, including:
- Named to the GHSAA Class 6A First Team All-Region 7
- Team Captain & Team MVP for the Georgia High School All-Star Game
- Finished in national top eight in 2021
- Ranked in IMG Academy Class fo 2022 top 150
- Ranked No. 18 Player in South Atlantic Region by TopDrawerSocccer
Solomon will return to UGA this fall for her junior year.
