Georgia commit, Christian Brathwaite, sits down to answer a few questions
A key component to the Liberty’s success this season has been 17-year-old, Christian Brathwaite. Brathwaite has appeared in 10 of the 11 matches this season while starting in seven. With 684 minutes on the pitch, the North Carolina Native has tallied four goals and four assists for Greenville. Already making a mark around the Carolinas we sat down with Christian to ask a few questions and learn more about her.
Q: What school and/or club team do you play for? Are you committed to a college, university or still looking?
A: I’m currently unattached to a club team but I last played at Barca Academy with an 05 boys team. I am committed to University of Georgia and will be going in the fall of 2023.
Q: What position do you play and how would you describe your style of play?
A: My natural position is as an attacking midfielder, but I have also been playing as the striker with Greenville Liberty. I would describe my style of play to be very possession oriented. I am a technical player, whose biggest strengths are controlling the pace of play and managing the midfield through a combination of my ball control, my passing, and my ability to create opportunities off the dribble.
Q: How do you plan on improving your game this summer?
A: I plan on improving my game this summer by focusing and honing in on my weaknesses, as well as improving the dimensions and dynamics of my game.
Q: What’s your pregame playlist like?
A: I’ve currently been in between music genres, and recently I’ve been listening to a lot of Christian Spiritual music. I’d say my top 3 songs that I listen to before every game include: Sunday Sermons by Anne Wilson, Still Rolling Stones by Lauren Daigle, and My Jesus by Anne Wilson.
