Greenville scores four unanswered to secure key road win ahead of regular season finale
Knoxville, TN (June 26, 2025)– The Greenville Liberty powered to a 4-0 win on the road Saturday night, staying firmly in the hunt for a USL W League wild card spot as the South Central and Southeast divisions vie for limited postseason slots.
Greenville got off to a fast start, with Martha Bishop finishing a well-placed pass from Payton Nutzman in the opening minutes. The visitors controlled the first half and went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
The second half saw the Liberty take full control. Nutzman doubled the lead in the 69th minute off an assist from Camryn Woods. In the 85th, Valerie Hernandez (goal) and Langley Stewart (assist) combined for the third, and Stewart made another impact moments later—linking up with Briyah Drayton to assist Saige Peterson for the fourth and final goal.
The result lifts Greenville to 7-3-1 and solidifies their second-place position in the division standings.
